Senior Nigerian Military Leaders Visit Terra Industries to Explore Indigenous Defence Technology and Capability
By Terra Industries

The delegation comprised senior officers of the Army War College Nigeria Course 10/2026, at the ranks of Brigadier General, Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel, led by Brigadier General MC Akin Ojo. The visit formed part of the War College’s Environmental Study Tour, a strategic programme designed to expose military officers to emerging defence technologies, indigenous innovation, and the evolving role of private sector partnerships in strengthening national security.
Senior officers did not simply sit through presentations. They participated in live demonstrations and hands-on testing of Terra’s unmanned aerial and ground systems. They engaged Terra’s technical team in direct discussions on how local defence manufacturing and private sector innovation can improve operational capability and accelerate the development of security solutions tailored to Nigeria’s unique operating environment. These are the conversations that shape procurement decisions, partnership frameworks, and the future of Nigeria’s domestic defence industrial base.
This visit is a sign of things to come. The Army War College Nigeria does not send its senior leadership to companies that are not worth their time. Nigeria’s military leadership has looked at what Terra is building and decided it deserves serious attention as the company rapidly becomes a key player in Nigeria’s defence ecosystem, aided by its recent joint venture with the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON).
“ Your presence here today shows the growing importance of collaboration between Nigeria's military leadership and indigenous technological innovators as we collectively explore solutions to our security challenges and strengthen the capacity of our nation to safeguard its interests. Our military does not have to choose between world-class defence capability and sovereign ownership of it. We are proving that an indigenous company can develop the systems that protect this country..”
— Nathan Nwachuku, co-founder and CEO of Terra Industries.
Nigeria no longer has to wait on foreign suppliers to determine its security future. It is building that future itself and today, its most senior military officers came to see exactly how.

Today, some of Nigeria’s most senior military leaders came to see what one of their own is building. Terra Industries Limited hosted a delegation from the Army War College Nigeria (AWCN) — 61 senior officers, including Brigadier Generals, stepping onto the floor of an indigenous defence facility and putting its technology through its paces.
